The International Centre “La Strada”, Moldova, in the framework of the project “Strengthening regional approaches to counteract trafficking in persons” under the Danish Programme Against Human Trafficking announces a call for applications for participation at the Regional Volunteers Anti-trafficking Workshop “What Can You Do?” which will be held in Chisinau, Moldova during December 4-9, 2006.
The Workshop will join 50 young people engaged as volunteers/peer educators as well as volunteers’ coordinators in the area of human trafficking prevention and awareness from Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova and Bulgaria.
The Workshop aims at:
a) enriching human trafficking prevention activities in the region by exchange of good practices;
b) strengthening skills and knowledge of volunteers/peer educators in the area of trafficking prevention by carrying out specialised capacity building sessions;
c) fortifying skills of volunteers/peer educators coordinators by delivering specialised capacity building sessions and allowing exchange of good practices in volunteers management among the coordinators;
d) reinforcing the volunteering movement in the are of anti-trafficking by uniting the workshop participants into a large international team and promoting volunteering philosophy.
The Workshop will allow collecting at least 10 regional good practices of volunteers/peer educators’ involvement in human trafficking prevention activities as well as of volunteers/peer educators’ management. Exhibition of materials, products and briefs of various anti-trafficking activities and initiatives will be organised within the Workshop.
External trainer(s) shall be invited for dedicated capacity building sessions. The Workshop also allows room for the participating volunteers’ coordinators to moderate other Workshop sessions.
The good practices presented as well as extra information resulting from the Workshop shall be released via websites of participating organizations and circulated via anti-trafficking networks internationally and regionally.
The working language will be Russian.
The agenda of the workshop will include the following formal sessions:
- exchange of good practices in anti-trafficking activities;
- capacity building sessions;
- presentation of prevention materials and initiatives;
- cultural program.
Costs associated with participants travelling, accommodation and meals are covered by the organisers.

The application package would include the following:
*Application form (separately for volunteers and for volunteers’ coordinator)
*CV of the organisation to have delegated volunteers and coordinators
*The draft of the good practice to be presented at the workshop (see the guidelines for preparing the good practice presentation...).
NOTE: If a volunteer from one organisation is applying than the volunteer coordinator is also expected to apply. If more than one volunteer from one organisation is applying only one good practice is expected to be presented by the volunteer.
